Independent Project - The Game

 The Game Game name: Mindvoid Reason of Naming: Mindvoid basically means a place the destroy/delete your mind/mental and make you/your mind stuck in it. Very simple and easy to understand name I think. The scripts of the game are written very badly. I've spent so much time searching for tutorials on Youtube. I've also spent so much time looking at forums that discuss about coding. But some of the code still not working. I did not make any sound effects for the game, not even music. I tried to put footsteps to the character, but it did not work. And I started to think that adding sound would be impossible, not to mention that I still had a lots of code to write. So at last, I chose not to add sound to reduce my workload. Also Lighting in Unity. Although you might see the colour theme is different from original colour, I did not do anything on the lighting and only changed the "skybox" setting. Independent Project - Environment

 Environment Tree, Grass and Rock When I was trying to build the environment for the game scene, I searched on Youtube and saw this video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueo6WJWGvqk&t=3250s , I followed some of the steps in this video and created the rocks and those trees and grass. It taught me how to make the mesh looks random just like the stones using the Decimate modifier in Blender. I then created some materials (colours) for these things in Unity and placed on them. After making so many 3D models, I am actually looking forward to create some 3D animations in the future. Here is the first room I've made. I must say, it looks very plain and empty even with some props in it right now.  I think lighting and modeling rooms or environment really are the things that I should learn more in the future. But since I didn't have much time for so many 3D models, I think it is reasonable to look like this as I spent a lot of time on the characters. This is the second room ...

 Character Design 4 Character name: Ni Meanings: Ni is 你 in Chinese which means you or yourself. I wanted to make this little fairy or monster to be something that represent the anger (or something else, could be the logic part) of Mi as Mi is kind of weak and depressed. I made its eyes look a bit angry or very smart? And I made two little hands swinging a little bit, and a tail that swings as well. This character was made after I started making the game in Unity. It was because I was struggling with coding a lot, and I was thinking maybe its too hard to make something like this. But eventually, I created this and used a simple script to make it works. However, there is no interactions between Ni and Mi really.

 Character Design 3 Character name: I call it the fat boss or the boss. Just like my real life, the origin of this creature is probably one of the Boss in my life at the moment, maybe not anymore next year, but it still gonna stay in my head for decades I believe. In reality, this creature is a boss to many people, even me to some extend, so I think it fits the name Boss in the game as well. Although there are others inspirations, but I would say this took 99% of it. For the design, it is basically a huge man sitting on a chair. I believe I do not have to explain too much on this model design as it is so obvious. I think I've spent not more than 20 hours one this model excluding the animation part.  Character Design 2 Character name: N/A (you may call it one eyed monster) Inspirations:     I would like to talk about my inspiration first. For this model, I spent a lot of time thinking of what or how it should look like. As I am getting ideas from my real life, and I am at the UK which rains all the time, I came up with an idea which is umbrella. And combine another idea of mine that is eye or eyeball, I started to search "One eyed creatures". On wiki, there is a list provided that shows many one eyed creatures. I saw a Japanese Yokai(Monster) called Kasa-Obake. I believe its look is very famous for everyone who watched some Japanese animations. After setting the kasa-obake as the inspiration/idea. I start to think of how my model should look. But I did not started modeling. Instead, I tested so many times on how the umbrella can be made. Character Design 1 Character name: Mi Meaning of the name:  Mi in Chinese(Mandarin & Written) can be 迷 or 謎.  Mi in Japanese that written in Kanji can also be 迷 or 謎. What is 謎? 謎 in Chinese and Japanese had similar meaning which is Riddle, Puzzle, or something that is unknown. Which represents that the character itself is someone without recognition. The info of the character is unknown. Also Mi in English is the similar with Me. Me can mean Myself, and in fact, the design of this character is partly based on me, myself. Research Hero's Adventure https://store.steampowered.com/app/1948980/_/ It is a game that allows players to choose their paths as a young boy. You can be a "Hero" that saves the dynasty, or you can be a gangster that beats everyone up. There are many ways to grow, many types of weapon to use. The background of the game should be around the Song dynasty or referenced from famous Chinese Wuxia novels by Jin Yong. The game was released on 8 March.  It is a SLG game.  I have played the game for about 70 hours.  I loved this type of theme ever since when I was a child. Things like The Three Kingdoms and those Chinese Wuxia/ Kong Fu movies really attracted me. This game is very fun as it gives the players a large amount of choices and freedom. You can meet different npcs and team up with them, or kill them for loots etc. You get to play from 0 to 100 of your character.
